The One That Got Away Music Video
JAKE OWEN FILMS AUTOBIOGRAPHICAL MUSIC VIDEO FOR NEW SINGLE “THE ONE THAT GOT AWAY”
Jake Says 2012 is the Best Year of His Life So Far
Nashville, TN – RCA Nashville recording artist Jake Owen filmed the music video for his new single, “The One That Got Away,” in Cocoa Beach, FL. The video was directed by Mason Dixon for Tacklebox Films. Jake co-wrote the song with ACM award-winning songwriter Dallas Davidson and Jimmy Ritchey. Jake says, “This song is a true story and very descriptive of my life growing up in Vero Beach, FL. I hope people enjoy seeing a snapshot of my life in this video.”
2012 started out with bit of bad luck for Jake. Friday, January 13, he fell in a snowboarding accident and broke his collarbone. However, since that time, this year has turned out to be the best year of his life so far.
From a professional standpoint, Jake is opening shows for Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw on the Brothers of the Sun Tour, which Entertainment Weekly calls “a monster stadium tour.” Jake says, “I’m getting to hang out all summer long with guys I have so much respect for. It doesn’t get much better than this.”
Jake has scored two back-to-back, multi-week No. 1 singles with “Barefoot Blue Jean Night” and “Alone With You.” Digital single sales of “Barefoot Blue Jean Night” have surpassed 1.5 million and digital sales for “Alone With You” are rapidly approaching platinum status. Both songs are from the Barefoot Blue Jean Night album, which debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart last September.
Jake also continues to sell out headlining gigs across the country, with many promoters reporting in that he is selling out shows which have never sold-out in the past. At the Brothers of the Sun Tour press conference in Tampa on June 2, Louis Messina, President of TMG/AEG Live and long-time director of Chesney’s tours said, “Jake Owen will be our next superstar.”
On a personal note, Jake married his girlfriend of one year, Lacey Buchanan, on May 7 in a sunrise ceremony on the beach in his hometown in front of 25 family members. “Life feels really good right now,” says Jake. “I’m trying to live in the moment and just enjoy every minute of my new life with Lacey. She is the best thing that has ever happened to me and I’m so happy that she can share every day with me out on the road. I feel very blessed and grateful on every level. When I wake up in the mornings, I seriously have to pinch myself. It is that surreal.”
