Vero Beach, Fla. – Vero Beach native and RCA Nashville recording artist Jake Owen has headlined five consecutive years of sell-outs at his hometown Concert, one of the highlights of the annual benefit Mardy’s Tennis & Jake’s Music Fest. The Concert continues to grow this year as Owen welcomes Grammy-nominated RCA Nashville recording artist Chris Young to take the stage on December 10, 2011 as his Special Guest at 6500-seat Holman Stadium.
Young has emerged as one of country music’s rising stars, with his last four singles reaching No. 1 on the charts. These include “Tomorrow,” which was recently certified Digital Gold, and “Gettin’ You Home,” which earned Young his first Grammy nomination for Best Male Country Vocal Performance. Young is eager to team up with Owen to support the Mardy Fish Foundation and Jake Owen Foundation.
The Mardy Fish Foundation, established in 2006, mission is to provide children access to after school exercise, nutritional and enrichment programs in a safe environment to prepare them for healthy, productive and successful lives so they can achieve their dreams. Founded in 2010, the Jake Owen Foundation was created to offer its support on a national level to children battling cancer and other childhood diseases while also lending its support to the Mardy Fish Foundation and its mission to assist youth in Fish and Owen’s hometown area of Indian River County, FL.
Jake Owen has had a wildly successful year with the release his third studio album, Barefoot Blue Jean Night, on August 30. Both the album and the first single, “Barefoot Blue Jean Night,” currently rank No. 1 on Billboard’s Country charts. Barefoot Blue Jean Night also continues to climb the charts for all genres, reaching No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 200. Owen is currently on tour with Keith Urban in addition to headlining his own shows.
“Chris Young is a close friend and an incredible musician,” says Owen, “Mardy and I are so excited to have him lend his support to the foundations and showcase his talent for the Vero Beach community.”
