Sioux City, IA Review
Maybe one of the finest baritones working in country today, Owen acted like he was playing a 60,000-seat arena with every perk in the business. Instead, he was just jumping around a barebones set, scaling speakers, working the front row and giving the audience the kind of show a higher ticket price would merit.
While his set was heavy on new stuff (he has a couple of bona fide radio hits in the hopper), it was “Don’t Think I Can’t Love You” that sent chills and proved his worth.
While “Eight Second Ride” is a bigger hit, it’s his novelty song. Now that fans know who he is, they can enjoy the riffs and emotion he invests in his music.
A new song about the one who got away has potential to be the big hit of summer 2010.
Owen is a keeper -- one who’ll have longevity in the business because he knows how to entertain and isn’t afraid to do it.
